Offered for sale is a lovely 19th Century, cobalt blue and white plate in the "Laurelia" pattern, manufactured by Thomas C. Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co, in Caulden Place, Hanley. The lozenge shaped "Kite" registration mark on the reverse tells us that this design was first registered on 24th October 1880. The "Kite" mark was used from 1842 until 1883. This tells us that our plate was manufactured between 24th October 1880 and the 31st December 1883. From 1884 registration numbers started being used instead.
