Royal Doulton, Historic England Series, Chelsea Hospital Plate

Royal Doulton series ware plate of Historic England from around 1939. This plate depicts Charles ll in the grounds of the Chelsea Hospital. There are two old soldiers "Chelsea Pensioners" in the distance. Plate is marked with number D5940 and Reg in Australia. The Historic England series was introduced in 1938 and withdrawn around 1952. This particular plate carries two backstamps, the green one with the letter A denotes that this particular plate was produced between 1939 and 1955.
