Border Fine Arts Flower Fairies

Offered for sale is a charming limited edition model manufactured by Border Fine Arts in Dumfries Scotland. The figurine is entitled "Apple Blossom Fairies" modelled by David Geenty in 1986, it was produced until the end of 1987. It is taken from the charming books by Cecily Mary Barker as part of the Flower Fairies range. It features two fairies, one a baby, sitting on a bough amongst the apple blossoms and is mounted on a dark wood plinth. Up in the tree we see you, blossom-babies, All pink and white; We think there must be fairies to protect you From frost and blight, Until, some windy day, in drifts of petals, You take your flight. You’ll fly away! But if we wait with patience, Some day we’ll find Here, in your place, full-grown and ripe, the apples You left behind – A goodly gift indeed, from blossom-babies To human-kind!
