Offered for sale is a a charming figurine made by Lladro and issued by Nao of a young girl entitled "Nina Con Palmatora " or "To Light The Way".
She wears a long flowing nightgown with her hair tied loosely in a big pink bow. In her hand she is holding a chamberstick with a glowing candle to light her way to bed.
It was designed and sculpted by Vicente Martínez and comes complete with the original box.
As with all porcelain from Nao or their parent company Lladro, the attention to detail in this piece is superb and the use of a limited pastel colour palette gives it that signature look .
Nao borrowed its name from the old sailing boats from the time of Columbus, and symbolised a return journey to origins, conveying creativity, skill and magic. This encapsulated the dream of the Lladró brothers to make porcelain figurines affordable for lovers of beauty.
