Offered for sale is a rectangular, Late Spode, serving dish by Copeland. Decorated in a pretty and popular pattern, entitled "Old Bow" first registered in 1912 (No 599813). Old Bow was produced as a design exclusive to the Harrods department store in London and was introduced in 1912 on earthenware and on bone china trimmed with gold. The pattern was discontinued in 1963. This particular example is some of Copelands Spode finest Ironstone work. English with a suggestion of Chinoiserie in the design on a cream underglaze. The backstamp on this item would indicate a date around 1925.
