Offered for sale is a fabulous little 19th Century Staffordshire poodle figure, believed to be the work of the William Kent factory in Buslem, Staffordshire. Standings proudly a gilded rectangular mount, outlined with a gold lustre band and finished with a vibrant green around the base which is embellished with gilded dots. The stance, and facial expression the dog its own charming personality. The detail is fantastic with the textured "mane" ankle cuffs and rosette on its tail. Poodles were originally hunting dogs and only became house pets in second quarter of the 19th century. The lion cut which these have was to protect them when hunting.

Excellent condition, no chips, cracks or signs of restoration. There are a couple of paint chips on the green paint to the corners of the base (please see photos) otherwise fabulous
