Offered for sale is a beautiful B&G Bing & Grondahl figure 'Girl Feeding Chickens' Figure #2220. A tall slim girl wearing a long dress in an attractive shade of blue, she carries a dish with food and her right hand is stretched out ready to feed the four hens. Designed by Axel Locher the backstamp suggests 1950's.
A very pleasing figure that has an air of serenity about it.
Bing & Grøndahl was founded on April 15, 1853, by Grøndahl, who was a figurine maker for the Royal Danish Porcelain Factory, and the Bing brothers, who were art and book dealers. In 1987 the company merged with its primary competitor, the Royal Porcelain Factory under the name Royal Copenhagen.
